We have lost power at the pumphouse, but our Vice President, Matt Tillman, was able to get on site quickly and get the generator running. We are also sending someone to Well 3 to bring it back online. Well 3 is equipped with its own generator thanks to a grant from the Sabine River Authority.
Because of this power interruption and switching of wells, the system will now be under a Boil Water Notice until we receive passing sample results next week. The exact timing will depend on when the lab is open due to the weather. I will post the official notice within a few hours.
We hope everyone is staying safe. Please reach out if you or a neighbor needs assistance. We're here to help if we can.
Thank you, Sara Edwards

DeBerry Water Supply – Important Weather Update

As we brace for the incoming winter storm, we want to reassure our members that we have been preparing the very best we can—and we still hope the forecast turns out milder than expected.
Well & System Preparation
Thanks to C. Miller Drilling, who stayed out here past midnight multiple nights this week, Well 3 is now ready for use if needed this weekend. While we would prefer to continue flushing it a little longer— the water looks great after the recent cleanout—we will put it online if the situation requires it. If that happens, we will issue a Boil Water Notice immediately.
Generator & Equipment Readiness
This week, Jon Edwards and Colt Irvin tested the main generator at the pump house, replaced batteries, and changed the oil to make sure it’s ready. Board Member Matt Tillman has coordinated the testing of all equipment and will complete a final system check this afternoon.
We also want to thank Colt Irvin for calling in a favor from AmpedUP Power Solutions. Milton drove all the way in from Midland last night to deliver a second generator, with no delivery fee and at an exceptional price ,simply because they wanted to help our community.
Additionally, Joe Harris has volunteered to assist with extra diesel if needed, providing it at cost and without delivery charges.
These are just a few of the people who have stepped up this week to save the system money and ensure we are as prepared as possible. Their support has made a tremendous difference.
How You Can Help
Our goal is simple: keep the water flowing through this storm. If you experience a leak, please shut off your water immediately and notify us. If you need help shutting your water off please call us.
- Operator: 903-315-6812 or 903-431-4951
- Sara Edwards (Board President): 318-372-5172
We also ask everyone to check on neighbors NOW and during the freeze—especially those who live alone or may need assistance. Community matters most in moments like this.
Many members have already reached out offering help. If you need something, please don’t hesitate to ask.
We expect to return to normal operations next week and begin the next phase of line cleanouts now that issues in our main well appear to be resolved and will be confirmed next week with additional testing.
Thank you all for your patience, cooperation, and community spirit.
Stay warm and stay safe,
Sara Edwards
