A leaking toilet can use up to 200 gallons a day of water

To check if your toilet has a leak, place a few drops of food coloring in the tank. If coloring is seen in the bowl without flushing, you have a leak.

New Rates are Effective

New Water Rates are now effective. A rate study was conducted by Texas Rural Water using 12 months of customer data combined with our current budget and increases in Repairs and Maintenance. You will be charged a base fee no mater your amount of water use, no water is included in this rate. The water use is charged separately based on amount used. Those 2 amounts are combined to get your balance due.

Please refer to Rates and Policies section for a visual breakdown of cost and changes.

Signs Your Water Heater May Need Flushing

If you experience discolored water, low water pressure, unusual odors, strange noises, or longer heating times, your water heater may need to be flushed.

To help identify the issue, run your hot and cold water separately. If only the hot water is affected, mineral buildup in your water heater is likely the cause.

Most manufacturers recommend flushing your water heater every six months. If you have hard water or higher mineral content, more frequent flushing may be necessary.

Please note that flushing your water heater must be done directly from the unit itself—it cannot be resolved by running water through your faucet or by flushing the main water line.
