Below are the proposed projects identified by the current Board of Directors.
1.We are collaborating with Ardurra Engineering, whose services are fully funded by a Texas Water Development Grant, as well as Stephens Engineering, a firm familiar with DWSC's challenges from past work. On October 3rd, under Ardurra's advisement, DWSC entered into a contract with Stephens Engineering to conduct a hydraulic analysis of the system. This analysis will help prioritize the most vulnerable and inefficient areas for repair and replacement as we apply for loans and grants.
2. Generators for the Well Sites: We all agree that ensuring continuous water supply during power outages is vital for our community. The Board has obtained multiple quotes for the installation of generators at the well sites to prevent water shortages when storage tanks are depleted during outages. We are currently working with the Sabine River Authority and have applied for over $40,000 in grants to cover this cost. Regardless of the grant outcome, we will discuss moving forward with this project due to its critical importance to our members. Generator for Well #3 was installed December 2024
3.New Well Site: As we proceed with ongoing well rehabilitation projects, we anticipate the need to drill a new well. We will continue to evaluate the system's needs, potential sites, and associated costs as we move forward with this project.
